What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a philosophy of health care that concentrates on helping the body function the way it was designed. What do I mean by that? Consider how many times in your life you had to REMIND your body to breathe, pump blood, or digest food. These functions of life happen automatically. Quite frankly, when the body works well, it works VERY well!

When spinal health is compromised because of misalignment of the spinal vertebrae or damage to the surrounding tissue, the body does not function as efficiently and optimally as it should, and overall health suffers. Chiropractic is a healthcare discipline that is centered on the role of the spine and central nervous system in maintaining good health, and leveraging the recuperative power of the body to heal itself naturally and efficiently. The practice of chiropractic focuses on the relationship between structure (of the spine) and function (as coordinated by the nervous system) and how that relationship affects the preservation and restoration of health.

Chiropractors identify and correct the cause of health challenges which arise when misalignment of the vertebrae (the small bones that make up the spine) disrupt neurological communications between your brain and the cells, tissues, and organs of the body. They correct these misalignment by gently adjusting the position of the vertebrae of the spine, reducing or eliminating neuropathy (changes in the pathology of the nerves) thus allowing your body to properly self-regulate, adapt and heal.
